What's the difference between filament tape and regular strapping tape?
Filament tape has fiberglass strands embedded in the backing, dramatically increasing tensile strength. Regular strapping tape has no reinforcement and will snap under heavy bundling loads. If your application involves tension — strapping, bundling, reinforcing — filament tape is the correct choice.
What surfaces does it bond to?
Cardboard, wood, metal, and most plastics. The acrylic adhesive creates a firm bond on smooth and slightly rough surfaces. For porous or dusty surfaces, clean the surface first.
Can it be torn by hand?
No — filament tape must be cut with a knife or scissors. The fiberglass reinforcement is what gives it tensile strength, and that same reinforcement makes it hand-tear resistant by design.
